Think Website System not just Website

Too many business owners get a website developed and go back to work. Huge missed opportunity. A website can be a great brochure, an amazing brochure in fact, but it can be so much more.

For most small businesses the website can be no less than a full time sales person working 24/7 on commission only. Who wouldn’t want that?

So what is a Website System?

  1. A website that is specifically written and designed to encourage the visitor to take an action
  2. AUTOMATED method of getting daily visitors to the website  (typically paid traffic)
  3. AUTOMATED method of nurturing new leads to become clients
  4. AUTOMATED method of working with existing clients to sell them more
  5. Everything MUST be tracked and reviewed on a regular basis.

Most business websites simply deliver information. It’s an easy trap for a business to fall into as the website seems to be the modern equivalent of the “brochure” to most business owners.  The website provide the basic information, who we are, what we do, where we are etc. etc.

Rarely, if ever, does a website like this get results that satisfy the business owner. Most business owners are expecting the new website to get them new prospects and customers but “information” won’t get your phone ringing.

Your website needs to encourage an action of some kind. Give the visitor a good REASON from them to call you.

Once your website has the basics, the information that is more or less required, start thinking in terms of “Offer“. What can you offer the visitor that would encourage them to call you, fill in a form or purchase something on the website? It doesn’t have to be a special price it could be some useful tips or guides. In exchange for the visitors email address you could offer a short “Insiders Guide” to whatever your product or service is all about.
